Spatial-Temporal Patterns of Network Structure of Human Settlements Competitiveness in Resource-Based Urban Agglomerations

Abstract: Resource-based urban agglomerations often encounter greater challenges in the sustainable development of human settlements. The aim of this study is to propose an approach to the coordinated development of competitiveness by analyzing the interaction of human settlements competitiveness (HSC) in resource-based urban agglomerations. Through the compound evaluation model of HSC and urban network analysis, this study finds: 1) the HSC measure increased from 35.12 in 1990 to 52.15 in 2015 and showed a downward tre… Show more

“…The interior of each area appears to form a combination of clustered agglomeration and banded distribution ( 20 , 21 ). The rise of big data has provided new opportunities for the research of the urban catering industry ( 22 , 23 ). In addition to the research on the geographical distribution and influencing factors of the catering industry, this research has gradually extended to include the online word-of-mouth effect of the catering industry ( 24 , 25 ), local population catering preferences ( 26 ), catering consumption behavior ( 27 ), and other aspects.…”

“…Statistical yearbooks typically have a time lag of 1-2 years. Therefore, PHSI has high temporal resolution and can achieve real-time evaluation of human settlements compared with the human settlement evaluation studies based on statistical yearbooks (Tian et al, 2016;Zhang and Fan, 2020;Yu et al, 2022); and (3) reflects the subjective preferences and requirements of urban residents for the living environment. Studies evaluating human settlements using statistical yearbooks and satellite remote sensing images (Chen et al, 2021b;Luo et al, 2021) are typically conducted with "land" as the core.…”

“…With the rapid development of cities, there have been negative effects on the global climate, living environment, and ecological environment (Yang et al, 2019b;Guo et al, 2020;Chen Y. et al, 2022;Zhang et al, 2022b;Ren et al, 2022;Yu et al, 2022), The CPC Central Committee has given prominence to the construction of ecological civilization, comprehensively strengthened the construction of ecological civilization, and carried out a series of efforts to control mountains, rivers, forests, fields, lakes, grass and sand in an integrated manner (Du et al, 2021;Meng et al, 2021). Therefore, understanding the changes of habitat quality caused by land use transformation is of great significance for the construction of ecological civilization.…”
