Spawning habit of Chaenogobius isaza TANAKA (Prelimiary report)

Abstract: Chaenogobiuc isaza TANAKA, an endemic goby, is one of the important fish of Lake Biwaa and its annual catch ranks third among all fishes in that lake.

“…We speculate that the low occurrence of filial cannibalism in Isaza is not only due to the low cost of paternal care for males but also to morphological traits in relation to feeding.
