Spectral investigations on Dy3+-doped transparent oxyfluoride glasses and nanocrystalline glass ceramics

Abstract: Dysprosium-doped oxyfluoride glasses and nanocrystalline glass ceramics have been synthesized and studied by x-ray diffraction, absorption, and visible and near-infrared emission spectra. The samples emit intense white light when populating the F49/2 level with a 451 nm laser light and, from the visible emission spectra, yellow to blue intensity ratios and chromaticity color coordinates have been calculated and their relative variation have been discussed based on the concentration of Dy3+ ions and the heat tr… Show more

“…The color luminescence of Dy x :LBS glasses have been analyzed in the frame work of the CIE 1931 chromacity diagram [37,38]. From the evaluated luminescence quantum efficiencies it can be found that, the prepared glass host is more useful as laser material.…”

“…The emitting photo luminescence of the present sample upon 348 nm excitation has been characterized by the CIE 1931 chromaticity diagram. 18,19 The color coordinates (x, y) for chromaticity diagram are evaluated as (0.32, 0.36) for the present Cd-Zn glass. The falling of these coordinates takes place in the white light region of CIE 1931 chromaticity diagram which is built by the MATLAB module and is shown in Fig.-13.…”

“…The Tm 3+ doped sample displays one intense blue emission band centered at 452 nm derived from the Tm 3+ : 1 D 2 ĺ 3 F 4 transition. The Dy 3+ doped sample exhibits two intense bands centered around 482 nm (blue), 574 nm (yellow) and a weak band around 663 nm (red), corresponding to the 4 F 9/2 ĺ 6 H J (J = 15/2, 13/2, 11/2) transitions, respectively [19]. Fig.2 indicates the DTA curve of the mother glass at heating rate of 10 k/min.…”
