Spectrum of Mesenchymal–Epithelial Transition Aberrations and Potential Clinical Implications: Insights From Integrative Pancancer Analysis

Abstract: Background: The receptor tyrosine kinase mesenchymal-epithelial transition factor (MET) is frequently altered in cancers and is a common therapeutic target for cancers with MET variants. However, abnormal MET alterations and their associations with patient outcome across different cancer types have not been studied simultaneously. In this study, we try to fill the vacancy in a comprehensive manner and capture the full MET alteration spectrum. Methods: A total of 10,967 tumor samples comprising 32 cancer types … Show more

“…The Chinese Glioma Genome Atlas (CGGA) database containing over 600 glioma samples was chosen. cBioPortal cBioPortal is a comprehensive publicly web tool that could provide researchers with visual and multidimensional tumor genomics data [52,53]. In our study, the Glioblastoma Multiforme (TCGA, Firehose Legacy) dataset containing 604 samples was selected to analyze the CBXs in cBioPortal.…”

“…cBioPortal is a public web application designed for better utilization of genomics and clinical data in cancer researches [ 43 , 44 ]. We use cBioPortal to retrieve a dataset containing 360 patients with HCC (TCGA, Firehose Legacy), then the co-expression and gene alteration analysis of GSDM family members were performed through cBioPortal.…”
