Speed control of Five-Phase IPMSM through PI, SMC and FITSMC approaches under normal and open phase faulty conditions

Abstract: This paper focuses on speed control of Five-Phase interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) through proportional-integral (PI) controller, sliding mode control (SMC) and novel fractional integral terminal sliding mode control (FITSMC) approaches under normal and open one-phase and two-phase faulty conditions. The SMC and FITSMC design processes have been deeply illustrated, while the stability of the aforementioned controllers has been guaranteed via Lyapunov theory. These ones are all designed based… Show more

“…DTC with neural ST minimized the torque ripples of IM compared to DTC with fuzzy PI of speed and DTC method with neural HCs [14]. Speed control of FP-PMSM through fractional integral terminal sliding mode control (FITSMC), SMC, and PI controller is presented [15]. The authors [16] propose a DTC-ANN method with ANFIS controller of speed for IM fed by 3-level NPC inverter, where a comprehensive analysis is provided.…”

“…Combining fault-tolerant sliding mode controller with delta operator or fuzzy T-S model covers nonlinear systems actuator faults [28][29][30]. The TSM controllers for three-phase PMSM have been studied in [31][32][33][34][35] and recently have been used for five-phase PMSM in the normal and opened phase faulty states [36][37][38]. To the author's best knowledge, there are few researches around designing the FTC in view of TSM for five-phase IPMSM [39].…”
