“…The migration profile of RNA segments of RVAs on PAGE is termed the electropherotype, and two major RNA migration patterns, long and short, are differentiated based on the migration rate of the NSP5 gene. Interestingly, G1P[8] (Japan) and G3P[8] (Australia and Thailand) with a short RNA pattern emerged in 2012 and 2013, respectively, and whole genomic analysis showed that the G1P[8] and G3P[8] strains with a short RNA profile had a DS‐1‐like genetic backbone: a G1 or G3‐P[8]‐I2‐R2‐C2‐M2‐A2‐N1/2‐T2‐E2‐H2 genome constellation .
