Abstract: Stanniocalcin (STC) 1 and 2 serve as anti-hyperglycemic polypeptide hormones with critical roles in regulating calcium and phosphate homeostasis. They additionally function as paracrine and/or autocrine factors involved in numerous physiological processes, including female reproduction.
