State-of-Art Digital Oilfield Implementation in Petrobras Campos Basin

Abstract: After its success with the implementation of Digital Oilfield program in Carapeba field, Petrobras decided to expand the concept to other fields and assets of the Campos Basin. These new fields had dissimilarities ranging from field instrumentation to varying production concepts and technical processes – posing a new set of challenges enforcing the need to review solution deployment strategy. The solution methodology required analysis of the various functional processes from these fields and ass… Show more

“…The first implementation was in production operations and focused on some enterprise solutions. According to Lima et al [10], these solutions were deployed following three steps: (1) Standardization: definition of the standards of business process, systems and tools that can influence the asset optimization; (2) Scalability: use of an information technology architecture compatible across the organization; and (3) Sustainability: implementation of the solutions by using robust methodologies to avoid obsolescence. These steps provided better information integration in Petrobras, enabling large increase in the efficiency of the organization.…”

“…This integrated diagnosis is implemented by collecting and processing real-time data, interpreting the post-processing data, diagnosing possible ESP malfunction, and adjusting operation parameters to achieve optimal operation by Molotkov et al (2008) and Dholkawala et al (2012). Integrated diagnosis is actually a part of intelligent field technology that is becoming more and more critical in reducing down time and increasing well efficiency pointed out by Moricca et al (2013) and Sobreira et al (2010). However, if no downhole sensor installed, it is difficult to diagnose tubing/ESP leakage, pump working efficiency, and lifting performance in the state-of-art field technologies.…”
