Static Electromechanical Characteristic of a Three-Layer Circular Piezoelectric Transducer

Abstract: The paper presents research related to the functional features of a novel three-layer circular piezoelectric actuator/sensor. The outer layers of the transducer are made of non-piezoelectric material. The middle layer comprises two elements—a piezoelectric disk, and a ring made of non-piezoelectric material. The additional external passive layer has a very important function; it protects the transducer’s electrical components against damage caused by external factors. Also, if sparking on the transducer wires … Show more

“…However, when excessive heat is generated during braking, the quality of the material of the brake pad may deteriorate. This is related with degradation of resin resulting in the substance losing its binding properties [53]. That is why the thermal stability of a brake pad, its capacity for maintaining mechanical properties and capacity for binding components in unfavorable conditions of braking may largely depend on the resin [54].…”

“…With the development of numerical methods, nowadays an FEM-based numerical approach is very often used. FEM, combined with analytical or experimental solutions, can be used, e.g., to study phenomena such as friction [27][28][29][30], liquid and heat flow [31][32][33] or piezoelectricity [34,35]. This method can also be used to estimate the basic parameters of fracture mechanics, such as the stress intensity factor.…”

“…In the case of the solenoid valve supply, can be implemented in any way in regard of the . To increase the supply efficiency, the solenoid valve with piezoelectric actuator can be used (Mieczkowski, 2017;Mieczkowski, 2018;Mieczkowski, 2019, Mieczkowski et al, 2020, which significantly reduce the opening and closing time if used in a double version. To determine the course of the cylinder outlet port opening was used engine model.…”
