WOOLSEY* I Actually these "onset within-no previouis attack" cases as used in this paper include three types of new cases of lesss than 7 days of consecutive disability: (1) cases in which the onset of disability was less than 7 days prior to the visit and in which the person was still disabled; (2) cases involving hospitalization, which were included regardless of the duration of disability; and (3) cases resulting in death even though death was not preceded by as long as a week of disability. 2 These proportions are for cases at all ages combined. The proportions were found to be lower for advanced ages (and also lower for the eases at younger ages which were, however, much less numerous). See figures 5, 6, and 7 in reference (9).
