“…The exciting components could be permanent magnet (PM) or superconducting magnet (SCM) and the reaction components could be metal plate or short circuit coils. The typical engineering applications are Magplane using PM and metal plate (Montgomery, 2004 and Shirakuni, 2006), Holloman high speed test track maglev using SCM and metal plate (Gurol et al , 2014 and Hsu et al , 2008), Japanese Yamanashi superconducting maglev test line using SCM and short circuit coil (Sawada, 2009 and Kuwano et al , 2007). Moreover, there are several fundamental researches, such as Jeroen de Boeij proposed a model which could describe the five-degrees-of-freedom dynamics of a passively levitated electrodynamic maglev system using PMs and short circuit coils (de Boeij et al , 2005), Hungje Cho studied the basic characteristics of the EDS system with SCMs moving on the PM Halbach Array Magnets by experimental and numerical methods (Cho et al , 2008), Yin Chen presented the derivation of a 3-D analytical solution of a null-flux EDS device for a metal plate (Chen et al , 2015), L. Hao investigated the force performance of the EDS with SCM and metal plated using a 3-D numerical model (Hao et al , 2019) and so on.…”
