Stem Cell and Obesity: Current State and Future Perspective

Abstract: Obesity as a worldwide growing challenge is determined by abnormal fat deposition, which may damage general health. Weight loss and control of related risk factors like type2 diabetes, dyslipidemia, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, and metabolic syndrome is an important concern in obesity management. Different therapeutic approaches such as lifestyle change, medications, and surgery are introduced for obesity treatment. Despite of gaining partially desirable results, the problem is remained unsolved. The… Show more

“…As a result, a total of 439,604 spectra, 46,590 unique peptides and 4,949 nonredundant proteins were identified (FDRs < 1% at the peptide and protein level and at least 2 unique peptides for each protein; detailed data are provided in (S1, S2 and S3 Tables). Previous studies reported that brown adipose tissue contained the nonadipocytes including stem cells, [36] immune cells, blood/neural tissue, [37] stromal-vascular (S-V) cells (non-adipocytes) [38], Therefore, our database included the proteins from these non-adipocytes. In addition, blood vessels are also around brown adipose tissue, thus the proteins from plasma were also included in our database.…”

“…The impairment of stem cells was ascribed in some cases to dyslipidemia (e.g., 19, 20). Two very recent reviews referred to these recent papers and warned on potential effects on the therapeutic use of stem cells by the systemic and tissue milieu of metabolic syndrome and T2D (21) and obesity (22), even if the discussed approaches and mechanisms are rather different from the current study.…”

“…Over recent years, investigations were indicated regenerative medicine can be paved the road for the treatment of many life-threatening diseases. In other words, translational cell biology can be considered as an innovative and efficient healthcare intervention for the promotion of the quality of life and medical costs reduction (Goodarzi et al 2014(Goodarzi et al , 2015Payab et al 2018, Baradaran-Rafii et al 2020Larijani et al 2020). Herein, the great discoveries have highlighted that MSCs as regenerative medicine soldiers have long been regarding, based on their multi-potential differentiation capacity and self-renewal ability along with immunomodulatory potency.…”
