Steroid Hormone Formation in the Human Ovary: I. Identification of Steroids Formedin Vitrofrom Acetate-1-14C in the Corpus Luteum

Abstract: Slices of 6 human corpora lutea of the menstrual cycle and ectopic pregnancy were incubated in vitro in the presence of acetate-l-14 C. By means of carrier dilution and stringent purification measures, the biosynthesis of 7 radioactive steroids has been demonstrated in the 2 types of corpora lutea.
