Structural Researches of Carbonic Fluid Nanosystems

Abstract: The results of researches concerning the cluster state in a number of disperse carbonic materials that are widely used in modern applications, including fullerenes and detonation nanodiamonds, are reported. With the help of the small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) method, some basic aspects of clustering in such systems are elucidated. At the same time, for the most effective and reliable description of a cluster structure under various conditions, a complex analysis involving complementary experimental and c… Show more

“…This fact testifies that the scatterers have a diffuse rather than smooth surface [15]. According to the earlier studies [9,10], this is a result of the presence of nano-sized pores in the dense structure of diamond agglutinates rather than nanodiamond particles themselves. At the same time, the power exponent values are less than 3 at < 1 nm −1 , which testifies to a mass fractal organization of clusters formed by the scatterers.…”

“…This approach allows the micro-and nanoscopic aspects of the structure to be separated. Small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) is a noninvasive method with high permeability [6,9,10]. It allowed us to trace the changes in the agglomerationporous structure.…”

“…Therefore, different modifications and improvements of the introduction of fullerenes into water were proposed [12][13][14][15][16]. The peculiar properties of fullerene solutions in various liquid media are the subject of many publications, including reviews [17][18][19][20][21]. There are also several reviews on this topic by one of the authors of this article [22][23][24][25], and therefore we will not repeat much of what is considered in detail in these articles.…”

“…First of all, it occurs, because fullerenes are the first soluble form of carbon. The studies of their solutions and mixtures became widespread, and interest to them does not decrease till now [7][8][9].…”
