“…According to the data of the Bochvar Institute of Inorganic Materials, the wire with tubular Nb filaments annealed by the reduced two-staged annealing (regime H, 575°С, 100 h + 625°С, 50 h) possesses the critical current density, J c , of 2200 A/mm 2 , which is more than twice as high as that of traditional bronze-processed composites with continuous Nb filaments. It may be suggested that the use of Ti-doped Osprey bronze with enhanced Sn content [16] instead of the traditional bronze matrix in the wires with ring Nb filaments will result in their higher performance due to the additional improvement of the Nb 3 Sn layers structure (finer equiaxed grains, stoichiometric composition, no columnar grains). Besides, in the case of Ti-doping of the bronze matrix the wire construction can be made simpler, as pure Nb tubes without Nb-Ti sheets can be used in the initial billets.…”
