Students’ conceptual understanding on acid-base titration and its relationship with drawing skills on a titration curve

Abstract: The study aimed to describe the conceptual understanding of acid-base titration and to know its relationship with drawing skills on a titration curve. This study used a quantitative approach with a type of correlational descriptive one. The study has been carried out with 54 undergraduate students of the Chemical Education Department at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training in State Islamic Institute of Tulungagung in the even semester of the 2018/2019 academic year. The data collection used test techni… Show more

“…A closer examination of ICE tables is especially warranted, as this is a strategy long included in chemistry textbooks that is under-researched. Student understanding of titrations has been researched more extensively than student understanding of ICE tables, but this study points suggests additional research is warranted with titrations as well.…”

“…R ² was also determined to measure how well the estimated step length matches the reference values, showing how much of the variation in step lengths is captured by our model. Pearson’s correlation coefficient greater than 0.8 was considered a strong correlation 66 . To determine the effect of the averaging technique on the RMSE, we performed a one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) with a P value of 0.05.…”

“…2.1.3 Solar radiation Solar radiation plays an important role in the energy produced by solar panels. The recommended average value of solar radiation outside the Earth's atmosphere is 13661 W/m 2 which is used as the solar constant [30][31][32]. The total energy that reaches the earth's surface is the solar constant minus the radiation due to atmospheric absorption and reflection before reaching the earth.…”
