This study aims to analyse character building in boarding schools through student management based on Total Quality Management) The research method used is descriptiveanalytic method using a qualitative approach that is limited to the principal, vice principal, head of the boarding school, teachers, students and parents. The data were carried out by means of observation, questionnaires and interviews. Quality requires preventive action, therefore it requires proper management, considering the many problems caused by the quality of education, especially by less qualified graduates. Efforts that can be made through the implementation of a sustainable and comprehensive character building program in schools and dormitories, through the formation of religious values, truth, togetherness, independence and economics. The results showed that student management based on Total Quality Management through educational planning consisted of acceptance, selection, placement ad service provision as well as the implementation of the teaching program and the learning process that started and ended with the remembrance of Allah's greatness in boarding-based schools which had a positive effect on the character building of students. Students become religious, disciplined, and independent.
