Nurses often experience ethical dilemmas in decision-making while providing nursing care to clients, especially COVID-19 patients. This study aimed to identify an ethical decision-making model used by hospital nurses in East Nusa Tenggara (ENT) Province, Indonesia, in providing nursing care to COVID-19 patients. This article is based on a research and development cross-sectional study. The population comprised 330 hospital nurses who provided nursing care to COVID-19 patients in ENT. The sample was derived via two-stage cluster sampling and consisted of 175 respondents. The research was conducted from January to June 2022. The independent variables were consequences of actions, deontological ethics, intuition, and the stigma towards COVID-19 patients. Furthermore, the sub-variables of deontological ethics were generosity, justice, autonomy, honesty, and obedience. Meanwhile, the dependent variable was ethical decision-making. Data was collected using questionnaires as instruments. The authors analyed the data partially with chi-square and simultaneously with multiple logistic regression tests. There were correlations between the consequences of action and ethical decision-making (p=0.003). In addition, there were correlations between generosity, justice, autonomy, honesty, and obedience and ethical decision-making (p=0.001). Furthermore, there was a correlation between intuition and ethical decision-making (p=0.0001). Moreover, there was a correlation between the stigma towards COVID-19 patients and ethical decision-making (p=0.0001). Multiple logistic linear test results showed that the significant variables in the ethical decision-making model were generosity (p=0.0001), autonomy (p=0.0001), justice (p=0.001), and honesty (p=0.0001). In conclusion, generosity, autonomy, justice, and honesty have a 40% influence on ethical decision-making by hospital nurses in East Nusa Tenggara in providing nursing care to COVID-19 patients.

Abstract. The Coronavirus disease has caused fear and tension globally since the pandemic started. The increasing number of cases with high mortality is of course very stressful, especially for medical nurses who are at the forefront of dealing with cases of the world-scale Corona virus pandemic. The purpose for this research is to investigate the meeting of medical nurses while really focusing on Corona virus patients at Kendari City Hospital. The type of research used is phenomenological research. This research was carried out at the Kendari City Hospital in August 2022 involving 6 participants who used a purposive sampling technique. The triangulation used is data and research triangulation. The results of the study found that the theme of the nurse's experience in the ups and downs category showed that the nurse's care that was expressed was when wearing personal protective equipment, unable to meet with family for a very long time while the joy was that with this pandemic nurses gained new knowledge and experience.Furthermore, the category that causes stress is the problem of using PPE (personal protective equipment) due to difficulty breathing, overheating and dehydration, in the category of how to reduce anxiety, namely nurses by praying a lot and chatting with other nurses, in the category of how to adapt, namely by obeying SOPs to be protected from being infected with covid 19. Furthermore, the category of using PPE for nurses stated that they were less comfortable in using personal protective equipment, while in the category of expectations, nurses while caring for Covid-19 patients wanted the pandemic to end soon and the welfare of nurses to remain a priority as well as the hopes of other nurses so that all elements of the community still adhere to the appropriate health protocol. standard operating procedures (SOP). It was concluded that nurses gain new knowledge and experience. It is recommended to improve the quality of nurses when providing services during the Coronavirus pandemic, emphasizing the importance for nurses to receive clear and up-to-date information about best practices in nursing care, prevention and control of Coronavirus infection.

Penelitian kuantitatif ini menyelidiki pengaruh ketersediaan sumber daya, kepuasan kerja perawat, dan kualitas pelayanan terhadap tingkat kesembuhan pasien di fasilitas kesehatan di Jawa Timur, Indonesia. Sampel terdiri dari 140 perawat dan 140 pasien dari berbagai fasilitas kesehatan. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner terstruktur, dan analisis statistik, termasuk analisis korelasi dan regresi, dilakukan untuk menguji hubungan antara variabel-variabel utama. Hasilnya menunjukkan korelasi positif yang signifikan antara ketersediaan sumber daya, kepuasan kerja perawat, kualitas perawatan, dan tingkat kesembuhan pasien. Analisis regresi mengidentifikasi ketersediaan sumber daya, kepuasan kerja perawat, dan kualitas perawatan sebagai prediktor yang signifikan terhadap tingkat kesembuhan pasien, yang secara bersama-sama menjelaskan 70,5% dari varians. Temuan ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya alokasi sumber daya yang strategis, membina lingkungan kerja yang mendukung bagi perawat, dan mempromosikan praktik perawatan berbasis bukti untuk mengoptimalkan hasil pasien di fasilitas kesehatan Jawa Timur.
