“…Nguyen et al proposed two relays jointly selected to secure the information as well as to achieve better performance in the cooperative network. Swain et al analyzed the performance of the optimal relay selection technique based on the harmonic mean of total SNR in a wireless network . Kawabat et al proposed best relay selection constructed based on the residual energy mechanism for internet of things (IoT) for less and better energy utilization .…”

“…But nontransparent relays are expensive and complex, and therefore most research studies are done for transparent relays which are more economical and easier to deploy. Another relay selection criterion is the mode of working principle of the relays like amplify-forward (AF) and decode and forward (DF) relays as a Study by Swain Manoj et al [29] propose relay selection scheme based on both AF and DF types of relays. The results show that the harmonic mean is better than min max scheme as far as SNR requirements for selection of relays is concern but for bandwidth performance min max supersedes harmonic mean.…”

“…The proposed relay selection scheme uses error rate performance as a selection criterion. CMK swain and S Das [21] have investigated the performance of a cooperative relay selection on an IEEE 802.16j MMR WiMAX network. The authors used a MAX-MIN and Harmonic Mean relay selection criterion to analyze the system performance.…”
