“…Undoped strontium ferrite perovskites found a place also in water remediation field since they were used as photocatalysts irradiated by both UV and visible light. Indeed, it was shown that they are able to induce the degradation of nitrobenzene [7], methylene blue [9], methylorange [10], phenol [11], bisphenol A and Acid Orange 8 [12]. Although the different experimental conditions reported do not allow a direct comparison, the results evidenced degradation levels ranging from 35 % in 24 hours for methylene blue to 99% in 6 hours for nitrobenzene and the complete abatement of Acid Orange 8 in 1 hour.…”

“…The conventional synthesis of LaFeO 3 perovskite photocatalyst by solid state reaction with its large particle size has certain limitations including that of a low surface area. As an alternative method, in the present study, the LaFeO 3 perovskite has been synthesized by sol-gel route, under ultrasonic treatment [18], with a view to improve the physical properties of this material. This synthesized perovskite was subjected to photocatalytic water splitting reaction for hydrogen generation under visible light irradiation and shows much improved hydrogen generation using ethanol as sacrificial donor and Pt as a co-catalyst.…”

“…Exploring new material systems is essential to improve the efficiency of visible light photocatalysis. As the well‐known functional materials, perovskite and its derivative oxides have been widely explored as photocatalysts . For instance, typical perovskite oxides, CaTiO 3 , SrTiO 3, and BaTiO 3, have been investigated for high UV photocatalytic activity, in contrast to low visible ones .…”
