Study of vibration equation and active control for piezo-smart beam

Abstract: The vibration equation of piezo-smart beams were proposed with Heviside function and modal analysis method, then, the problem of active vibration control and suppression of piezo-smart beams were investigated under modal negative velocity feedback control law. It is concluded that triangular progression of Heviside function can make vibration equation of smart beams simple. There is no direct relationship between calculating modals' number and amount of PZT patches, modal negative velocity feedback increases m… Show more

“…When the deformation of the beam is known, the input voltage of the piezoelectric actuators varies depending on the control result. For a piezoelectric actuator with limited length, the generated excitation from the piezoelectric sheet is equivalent to a force couple [5] generating a bending moment(…”

“…As early as 1985, the piezoelectric film are applied in active vibration control of cantilever beam by ThomaS Baile [1] ; Then S.J.Kim [2] analyzed dynamic model of smart beam for the design of piezoelectric actuators. Now, more and more scholars study the use of piezoelectric actuators in active vibration control [3][4][5] .…”
