Study on Dependability and Repeatability of Measurement Method of Mean Linear Thermal Expansion Coefficients of Glasses

Abstract: Coefficient of mean linear thermal expansion is an important physical property of glasses. It is the key thermodynamic property to evaluate the thermal stability and matching sealing of glasses. The measurement results of coefficient of mean linear thermal expansion obtained by different dilatometers showed that glass expands slowly with nonlinearity below 50 °C.
