Study on Mechanical Properties of Permeable Polymer Treated Loess

Abstract: The reinforcement and durability of loess are of great importance for road performance. In this study, a self-designed grouting system and newly permeable polymers were adopted to investigate the mechanical properties and durability of solidified loess (SL), considering different dry densities and water contents. The unconfined compression test and piezocone penetration (CPTU) test were used to examine the mechanical properties. The mechanism of the loess solidified by permeable polymer was analyzed from the m… Show more

“…The compressive strength plays a crucial role in determining the compactness of particle arrangement within the coal. Greater compressive strength corresponds to smaller particle gaps and lower permeability [20]. These non-linear factors interact with each other to collectively determine changes in gas permeability within coal.…”

“…Common solidifying agents for solidified soil include cement, quicklime, and fly ash. Numerous scholars have conducted experiments employing various methods, with a primary emphasis on saline soil [3][4][5][6][7][8], loess [9][10][11][12][13][14], and other typical soil types [15][16][17]. The existing studies show a comparatively limited focus on the solidification of dredged sediment from rivers and lakes.…”

“…Wang et al [27] designed a visual constant pressure grouting test device to investigate the polymer's diffusion and reinforcement mechanisms in silt under different pressures. Permeable polymers have been widely used in the reinforcement of dam and subgrade engineering [28,29]. The strength and impermeability of permeable polymers have been investigated.…”
