Effect of X-ray exposure on the pharmaceutical quality of drug tablets using X-ray inspection equipment

“…Although several rules regulating the exposure of drugs to X-rays are found in US government guidelines, the effect of X-ray exposure on drug quality is not well known 23 . Some reports suggest that drugs 24 and foods 25 are degraded by an extremely high amount of irradiation.
