Study on the Absorption Properties of Spinel Type Ferrite Composite Coatings in the Low Frequency

Abstract: In the present study magneto-polymer composite coatings are fabricated using nano Zn ferrite, Mn ferrite, Ni ferrite, Zn-Mn ferrite and Zn-Ni ferrite by spraying method. The complex permeabilities, Complex permittivities and microwave absorbing properties within the low frequency of these composites were characterized and investigated. The results showed that the magnetism of the mixed spinel ferrites ( Mn ferrite, Zn-Ni ferrite, Zn-Mn ferrite) are strong but the dielectric properties are weaker, while the mag… Show more

“…It is informative to compare the imaginary permittivity of the ferrite/ PANI composite with those reported in literature. Our previous research on spinel type ferrite composite absorbing coatings 33 showed the maximum imaginary part of permittivity to be 1.6, which had the same weight fraction of ferrite in wax as our present study. Thus, in order to obtain a better absorbing material, the weight percent of polyaniline should be bigger than 60.89%.…”

“…In the present work, we choose Mn 0.5 Zn 0.5 Fe 2 O 4 as the magnetic nanoparticle because it has shown a signicantly larger permittivity and better magnetic property than other spinel ferrites. 33 We demonstrate the synthesis of the unique structure of ferrite-on-polyaniline nanocomposite by the in situ emulsion polymerization with HCl as a dopant. The chemical interactions and dispersions between these ferrite nanoparticles and polyaniline nanobers, and the thermal resistance and dielectric properties of the resulting nanocomposites were investigated.…”

“…This frequency region was chosen due to the possibility of observing resonance reflection (NFMR) in the soft magnetic phase (spinel). It is noted that the presence of resonance (significant weakening of the reflected radiation) in this frequency range is typical of spinels [ 38 , 39 ]. Such behavior is due to a strong coupling between soft magnetic and hard magnetic phases that results in a weakening of the absorption for hard the magnetic phase and an increased reflection for soft magnetic phase as a function of the phase ratio concentration.…”

“…2. An efficient microwave absorber should have larger values of imaginary part of both complex permeability and permittivity, where the real part denotes the energy storage and imaginary part represents the energy loss [12]. It can be observed in Fig.…”
