Subcutaneous Panniculitis-like T-cell Lymphoma: Review of Therapies

Abstract: Subcutaneous Panniculitis-like T-cell Lymphoma (SPTCL) is a rare subtype of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma derived from alpha/beta cytotoxic T-cells. It is known to follow an indolent course with a favorable prognosis. We review current therapies used to treat this rare entity in order to increase awareness about possible options. No standardized therapy for SPTL currently exists. Local radiotherapy for indolent local disease has been found successful. For indolent disease with a more generalized distribution, immu… Show more

“…14,20,26 In cases with recurrence or resistance to immunosuppressive therapy, combination chemotherapy with cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisolone (CHOP) or CHOP-like chemotherapy and/or stem cell transplants may be employed. 6,26,31 For localized disease, long-term remission has been reported with radiation therapy. 31 Differences in biologic behavior/phenotype have been previously reported between morphologically similar canine and human lymphomas.…”

“…In contrast, SPTCLs in humans are often indolent and, in many cases, respond well to high doses of systemic corticosteroids as a first line of defense, although hemophagocytic syndrome may develop in some human cases and be associated with poor prognosis. 14,20,26 In cases with recurrence or resistance to immunosuppressive therapy, combination chemotherapy with cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisolone (CHOP) or CHOP-like chemotherapy and/or stem cell transplants may be employed. 6,26,31 For localized disease, long-term remission has been reported with radiation therapy.…”

“…Chaudhari et al presented the coupling of CGE to timeof-flight mass spectrometry in hollow nanomechanical resonators [35]. Such a system allows the rough mass determination of proteins in a small portable instrument since it does not require vacuum.…”
