Subjective Evaluation of the Environmental Quality in China’s Industrial Corridors

Abstract: Abstract. Based on 270 questionnaire surveys in 8 cities of 5 industrial corridors in China, this study aims to examine the effects of industry construction on the evaluation of environmental pollution, natural environment, built environment, personal perception and development and policy. The results show that the evaluations on environmental pollution and landscape design are both below the medium level, but the evaluations of the living comfort and safety are both above the medium level. Further analysis, f… Show more

“…Kačerauskas (2016) states that the development of technologies is essential element of environmental solutions. Xu et al (2016) proves the connection between the air quality and the built environment based on questionnaire surveys in China's industrial areas. Dagiliūtė and Juozapaitienė (2015) assert that cooperation of engineers, environmental science specialists and social science professionals to achieve effective results in all areas, including environmental protection.…”

“…Uždaroje aplinkoje atliekami įvairūs mechaniniai darbai, kai darbo zonoje susidaro kenksminga užteršta ypač pavojingomis smulkiadispersėmis kietosiomis dalelėmis (SKD) aplinka. Ypač smulkių, t. y. mažesnių nei 10 µm skersmens, dalelių sukeliamas poveikis žalingiausias žmogaus sveikatai, todėl yra svarbu tinkamai iš pramoninių dujų išvalyti esamas SKD, taikant pažangias aplinkosaugines technologijas (Xu et al 2016).…”

“…This paper is based on the theory of artificial corridor effects on landscape ecology by Forman (Forman and Deblinger 2000) and Dramstad (Dramstad 1996), the theory of regional industrial economies (Digiovanna 1996), correlations between industrial regions and population variations by Wrigley (Wrigley 2011) and investigations of industrial pollution environment in developing countries (Pargal and Wheeler 1995;Xu et al 2016). In the case of typical cities, industrial development generates urban system energy flows as a form of artificial interference, and such flows are explained by the economic benefits of highly developed industry, which are important components of an urban economy.…”
