Supergravity dual ofc-extremization

Abstract: Recently a general principle, called c-extremization, which determines the exact R-symmetry of two-dimensional CFTs with N = (0, 2) supersymmetry was identified. In this note we show that the supergravity dual corresponds to the extremization of the T -tensor of N = 2 gauged supergravity in three-dimensions. To support this claim, we demonstrate that the expected central charge of CFTs arising from twisted compactifications of four-dimensional N = 4 SYM on Riemann surfaces, whose gravity dual is a reduction of… Show more

“…We develop the necessary formalism in 5d N = 2 gauged supergravity to study the flow across dimensions in presence of background fluxes and obtain the 2d central charge in terms of the sections, the isometries and the fluxes. Notice that the relation between c-extremization and the N = 2 gauged supergravity BPS flow equations has already been proposed in [27], where the ST U truncation (one graviton and two massless JHEP07(2017)040 vector multiplets) was taken into consideration. Here we consider a more general setup, without fixing the number of vector multiplets and discussing the analysis in presence of hypermultiplets.…”

“…The first non-trivial reduction with an AdS 3 vacuum involves a reduction on H 2 . We omit the details since a related reduction appeared recently in [37] where, in addition, the underlying three-dimensional gauged supergravity was identified. The mass-squared matrix for the fluctuations takes the following form:…”

“…In expressing terms this way, we have made use of the Kähler potential of the three-dimensional gauged supergravity, K = −(W 1 + W 2 + W 3 ), introduced a length scale L for the internal space, and imported the notation of [37], e Wi = e 2A X −1 i , where A denotes the warp factor. Up to the minus sign in front of the second term, this is the potential corresponding to magnetized wrapped brane solutions [37].…”
