Surface damages and tool wear mode in end milling of hastelloy‐C276 under dry and wet conditions

Abstract: Hastelloy‐C276 is a nickel based superalloy that is widely used in chemical, petro‐chemical, environmental and nuclear industries due to its outstanding performance in a wide range of corrosive mediums. The superior properties of nickel based superalloys impair their machinability which increases the difficulty in obtaining a good surface finish. Because most of the components' failures are initiated from surface defects, several researchers have been concerned about surface integrity in machining aerospace su… Show more

“…Ulutan et al 4 conducted a study related to the surface roughness of nickel- and titanium-based alloys and concluded that, of the many parameters affecting the surface quality of the workpiece, the most important were the feed rate, tool geometry, depth of cut, cutting speed, workpiece properties, and tool wear. Falahi et al 8 investigated surface roughness and tool wear types in Hastelloy C276 milling. Experiments were carried out under dry and wet conditions.…”

“…The condition of solar panel is also an important factor in order to increase the amount of solar radiation harvested from sun. The surface dusts and damages can reduce the performance of the panel and effect the panel's chemical materials [16]. A 12v solar panel that is supplied by the energy lab in the faculty was used in testing and observing stage.…”
