Sustainability indicators of a naturally ventilated photovoltaic façade system

Abstract: Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) systems have been increasingly used as a means to generate electricity on-site, and their diffusion will increase in the near future. The objective of this article is to carry out a sustainability assessment of a BIPV system installed in Turkey regarding the three pillars: environmental, economic and social potential impact, in order to develop different indicators. For the socioeconomic analysis, a Multiregional Input-Output (MRIO) method was used to estimate production… Show more

“…Papers in the category "Other" use methods that cannot be included in the rest of the groups. For example, Garrain et al [174] evaluated socioeconomic or environmental aspects of façade BIPV systems by analyzing their life cycle emissions and economic benefits. Another example for the category can be found in the work of Saretta et al [175].…”

“…Based on the social life cycle evaluation, the socioeconomic analysis and MRIO methods were combined and employed to study the impact of economic evaluation on social factors and estimate the production of goods and services, value-added creation, and employment opportunities. Garraín et al [171] evaluated the sustainability performance of a naturally ventilated photovoltaic curtain wall system, analyzing the socio-economic and environmental impact of an innovative plant. The socioeconomic effects were assessed by using the MRIO approach and were related to G & S production, value-added creation, and employment creation.…”
