This study aims to explore the challenges and opportunities associated with measuring and assessing sustainability impacts and investigate digitalization’s role in addressing these challenges. The study gathers stakeholders’ perspectives on strategically managing sustainability and employs a qualitative research approach, utilizing semi-structured face-to-face interviews with seven industry participants. The findings reveal that the measurement and assessment of sustainability impacts pose significant challenges due to the lack of standardized approaches and the diversity of evaluation methods. Companies have started to address these challenges by applying digitalization to standardize and streamline sustainability measures. Digital platforms and technologies are being developed to collect, analyze, and report sustainability data, providing a foundation for reliable and comprehensive sustainability reporting. This study contributes to the existing literature by highlighting the need for standardized approaches and digital platforms for measuring and assessing sustainability impacts. The findings emphasize the importance of integrating sustainability into corporate strategies, as well as the role of digitalization in enabling companies to focus strategically on the most important societal goals. The study also underscores the need for clear definitional parameters and accurate measurement of sustainability performance. Overall, this research highlights the potential of digitalization in driving meaningful change and promoting sustainability in economic, environmental, and social domains.

Both N- and T-type calcium ion channels have been implicated in pain transmission and the N-type channel is a well-validated target for the treatment of neuropathic pain. An SAR investigation of a series of substituted aminobenzothiazoles identified a subset of five compounds with comparable activity to the positive control Z160 in a FLIPR-based intracellular calcium response assay measuring potency at both Ca2.2 and Ca3.2 channels. These compounds may form the basis for the development of drug leads and tool compounds for assessing in vivo effects of variable modulation of Ca2.2 and Ca3.2 channels.

This paper presents an initial assessment of the possibility of structuring a sustainability certification scheme for the dimension stone industry in Brazil. A survey was conducted based on perceptions of key stakeholders with experience in Brazil's dimension stone industry and connected to it through research or institutional affiliations. Twenty-three out of twenty-six stakeholders agreed to be interviewed. Six groups of 40 questions included general and specific topics containing open-ended and multiple-choice questions on three main themes: sustainability, challenges to the sustainability, and deficiencies and omissions of the current regulatory scenario of the dimension stone industry. The findings demonstrated that participants have a positive perception about the feasibility of a sustainability certification scheme for the dimension stone industry in Espírito Santo State. Responses provided by the sample of stakeholders interviewed indicated that such a certification scheme would find support from key stakeholders and also legitimacy. In addition to this broader conclusion, other options were validated, including the agreement in the list of entities that could be part of the group relevant to the dimension stone industry. In this context, participation of public powers is essential, but in indirect participation in the scheme to avoid contamination of the balance of forces. This would support its evolution with promotion and collaboration tools, which would help solve the deficiencies of inadequate performance. More research is needed on the main challenges and impacts of such an initiative for a certification scheme.Recommendations for a preliminary model are given, based on the results of the interviews, and also on economic, social and environmental data about the dimension stone industry in Brazil and on the literature about certification schemes.
