Lembaga pemerintah perlu beradaptasi dengan berbagai teknologi yang berkembang pada Revolusi Industri 4.0. Tidak hanya dalam aspek teknis, namun aspek sosial dari pemanfaatan teknologi harus dapat dimunculkan sehingga mampu meningkatkan kualitas hidup manusia yang berkelanjutan. Society 5.0 hadir sebagai konsep yang dinilai mampu memunculkan sisi humanis dari penggunaan teknologi pada Revolusi Industri 4.0. E-government dinilai memiliki relevansi dengan society 5.0 dimana pemanfaatan teknologi ditujukan untuk kemaslahatan warga negara. Penelitian konseptual ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran mengenai peran e-government dalam mendukung terciptanya society 5.0 melalui aspek keberlanjutan ekonomi, sosial, dan lingkungan. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data penelitian adalah tinjauan literatur dan teknik analisis data melalui pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa e-government mampu mendukung keberlanjutan baik dari aspek ekonomi, sosial maupun lingkungan. Dari aspek ekonomi, e-government memunculkan efektivitas dan efisiensi terhadap kinerja organisasi sehingga suatu pekerjaan yang bervolume besar dapat dilakukan secara cepat dengan menggunakan sumber daya yang seminimal mungkin. Adapun dari aspek sosial memungkinkan publik memiliki akses yang sama untuk mendapatkan layanan publik yang berkualitas. Dari aspek lingkungan, e-government dinilai mampu untuk mendukung berbagai program yang berkaitan dengan pelestarian lingkungan. Kerangka konseptual turut dibangun untuk memberikan abstraksi mengenai peran e-government dalam mendukung society 5.0.

The development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) makes the world more borderless and communication in various sectors easier. ICT has penetrated individual, organizational, and social barriers. The impact of ICT does not only occur in private companies or organizations but also public organizations. The application of E-Government is a form of ICT application in the public sector. E-Government is a process of using ICT as a new instrument in providing public services more effectively and efficiently. This study aims to provide an overview of the role of ICT in E-Government, which supports aspects of sustainable development in the economic, social, and environmental fields. The method used to collect research data is a literature review and data analysis techniques through a qualitative approach. The results of the study show that E-Government is able to support sustainable development from both economic, social, and environmental aspects.This research recommends that government agencies must continue to innovate, especially by involving ICT and e-government in their public services. It is important because the use of this technology can support sustainability issues in various fields. Then, various studies across sectors are also needed so that comparisons can be developed regarding the challenges that need to be faced in establishing cooperation.

Sustainability consciousness is pivotal to ensuring sustainability in schools. However, the roles of leaders are considered critical towards ensuring sustainability consciousness. Hence, this study explores the roles of school leaders in promoting sustainability consciousness considering scholarly submissions, using the case of South Africa. Systematic review method was adopted. Thus, Google search engine was adopted, and a search was done using identified key terms on SABINET as the selected database. The retrieved literature were sieved using inclusion and exclusion criteria as required by the adopted protocol of PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses). From the analysed data, themes were generated. The findings of the study showed that educational changes are not capable of ensuring sustainability consciousness. Meanwhile, factors such as policy, curriculum and collaborative efforts are capable of hindering or promoting sustainability consciousness. Following the submission of scholars in the systematically analysed literature, the roles of leaders are put forward as recommendations towards ensuring sustainability consciousness in their various schools.
