Synchronization Reliability Evaluation Method for Mechanisms with Different Time Distribution

Abstract: Synchronization reliability problems are common in the mechanical field; motion asynchrony will affect the performance or even lead to failure. As action time of mechanisms does not share the identical distribution, the existing synchronization reliability evaluation method has great limitations. Aimed at the problem, a novel synchronization reliability evaluation method is proposed. Starting from two mechanisms, the synchronization reliability of N mechanisms can be obtained with recursive algorithm, where sy… Show more

“…The real-time Ethernet bus in this system makes use of a kind of new synchronization method of distributed clock, which lets synchronization precision of SYNC signals of all slaves could be about 20 ns as shown in Figure 6. This performance is better (Chen et al, 2016;Pang et al, 2018).…”

“…Unfortunately, this method was time-consuming, and thus unsuitable for strongly nonlinear models [17]. Xie et al proposed a new reliability model of a torsional spring folding wing, considering the common cause failure effect, and the availability of this method was examined using the Monte Carlo simulation method [18]. Nevertheless, the reliability index of folding wing only concerns the deployment time, ignoring the asynchronous problem caused by the deployment time difference.…”
