Synonymie et granularité dans les bases lexicales du type WordNet

Abstract: In this paper we present a contribution to the transformation of PolNet, a Polish wordnet developed at the Adam Mickiewicz University in PoznaĔ, into a Lexicon Grammar of Polish. The current step consists in including verb-noun collocations and relations linking the verbal synsets to noun synsets. We focus on the concept of synonymy for two kinds of predicative entities: verbs and verb-noun collocations and on synset granularity problems that emerged at this stage of the project. “…By valency structure we mean here information about all argument positions opened by a predicative word, taking into account both semantic constraints on arguments, as well as, morpho-syntactic constraints on text elements filling these positions (case, number, gender, etc.) (Vetulani, Z. and Vetulani, G., 2015). In particular, we require synonyms to have the same valency structure and the same assignments of semantic role values.…”

“…We focused on verb-noun constraints corresponding to the particular argument positions of the verb. For our purposes, we proposed the following definition: verb + meaning pairs are only synonymous when they take the same semantic roles and the same concepts as values (see more in (Vetulani & Vetulani, 2015)). In particular, the valency structure of a verb is one of the indices of meaning (i.e.…”
