A new coordination polymer [Pb(ttbt)(1,4-bdoa)] n Á2nH 2 O (1) (1,4-H 2 bdoa = benzene-1,4-dioxyacetic acid and ttbt = 10, 11,12,13-tetrahydro-4,5,9,14-tetraazabenzo[b]triphenylene) has been obtained under hydrothermal conditions. The structure of polymer 1 has been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis and further characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectra (IR), powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) and diffusereflectance UV-vis spectrum. Polymer 1 displays a onedimensional chain structure, which is further extended into a two-dimensional layer structure through p-p stacking interactions and hydrogen-bonding interactions. The photoluminescence behavior of polymer 1 was also discussed in paper. Meanwhile, polymer 1 represents good performance for the photocatalytic degradation of organic dyes under UV irradiation.
