Synthesis and characterization of high-dimensional structure based on paradodecatungstate clusters and sodium–aminoacetic acid complex subunits

Abstract: An organic-inorganic hybrid material based on paradodecatungstate building blocks and sodium-aminoacetic acid complex subunits,{Na 10 (H 3 N-CH 2 -COO) 2 [H 2 W 12 O 42 ]}Á28H 2 O (1), have been synthesized under mildly acidic conditions. This compound was characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, IR and UV-visible spectroscopies, and cyclic voltammetry. The compound crystallizes in the triclinic space group P-1 with a = 11.879 (2) Å , b = 12.706(2) Å , c = 13.067(2) Å , a = 74.11(… Show more

“…21 The complex anion (Fig. 4a) is centrosymmetric with the structure known from the reported examples, [19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27] comprising twelve edge-sharing WO 6 octahedra. The W-O (terminal) bond lengths vary from 1.725(6) to 1.781(6) Å, the W-O (bridging) bond lengths are from 1.814(6) to 2.203 (6) and the W-O(m 3 ) bond lengths are in 1.919(6)-2.223(6) Å range.…”

“…Analogous polyoxometalate anions have been reported in the form of salts, as well as sodium and copper(II) coordination polymers. [19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27] One reported example of a Mn 2+ coordination polymer is the (Himi) 6…”

“…Regardless of the membrane, no APIS is detected in the OVA solution while a noticeable reverse NaCl flux is observed due to severe reverse NaCl diffusion. This may alter the OVA structure because coordination complexation may occur between the Na + ions and carboxyl groups in OVA (Figure (b)), as commonly observed where both moieties are present. ,, The OVA solutions before and after FO concentration are both analyzed through FTIR and CD to characterize the OVA structure. FTIR spectra reveal a good consistency between the original and concentrated OVA with APIS as the draw solute, while a new peak at 450 cm –1 appears when NaCl is the draw solute (Figure (c)).…”

“…The synthesis and characterization by elemental analysis, IR and UV-VIS spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry and X-ray single crystal structure determination of the extended species {Na 10 (H 3 N-CH 2 -COO) 2 [H 2 W 12 O 42 ]}Á28H 2 O is presented in the contribution by Chaalia et al [54]. The compound crystallizes in the triclinic space group and the crystal structure consists of infinite 2D layers.…”
