Synthesis and Characterization of Ni Nanoparticles via the Microemulsion Technique and Its Applications for Energy Storage Devices

Abstract: Herein, a unique synthetic approach called microemulsion is used to create nickel nanoparticles (Ni-NPs). SEM, TEM, EDX, and XRD techniques were employed for the investigation of morphology and structures of the synthesized material. Electrons from electroactive components are transferred to external circuits by Ni-NPs’ superior electrical conductivity and interconnected nanostructures, which also provide a large number of channels for ion diffusion and additional active sites. The experimental findings showed… Show more

“…The BJH method unveiled the synthesized composite as nanoporous with an average pore size of 2.1 nm and pore volume of 0.056 cc/g (Figure S3). The uniform pore size (2.1 nm) distribution further facilitates rapid redox reaction to occur. Additionally, within the realm of pseudocapacitance, a high surface area typically corresponds to increased capacitance and increases the electrochemical detection sensitivity .…”

“…Porosity and surface area can be used to forecast the binding capacity and uptake behavior of an adsorbent. 35 In the relative pressure range of 0.7−0.99, the isotherm exhibits type IV characteristics with a small hysteresis loop. The calculated BET surface area of the nanocomposite was 61.65 m 2 /g (Figure 4).…”

“…Substitution strategies of ferrite nanoparticles by europium [129] or samarium [130] offer suitable alternatives to gadolinium MNPs. Nickel nanoparticles produced by thermal decomposition are another class of MNPs with promising applications in magnetic data storage in electronic devices owing to their excellent electrical properties [131] or for the production of the next-generation electrodes for supercapacitors [132].…”
