Synthesis and Characterization of Tio2 Nanoparticles Using Cynodon Dactylon Leaf Extract for Antibacterial and Anticancer (A549 Cell Lines) Activity

Abstract: The synthetic techniques, for the synthesis of Metal oxide nanoparticles involve toxic solvents, high pressure, high-energy and high temperature which may be efficient but not eco-friendly. The synthetic techniques for metal oxide nanoparticles using plants, has several advantages over the chemical synthesis such as cost effectiveness, simplicity as well as compatibility for medical applications. In this part of the study we are using the cynodon dactylon leaf extracts to synthesize titanium dioxide nanopartic… Show more

“…Nanoparticles with negative zeta potential possess higher cellular uptake than positive ones. The lower the negative charge of nanoparticles, the easier the passage into the cell to achieve better interaction with the cellular membranes (Mohammadinejad et al 2015 ; Hanna and Saad 2020 ; Hano and Abbasi 2022 ). This gives nano-particles the advantage in pathogenic microbes and cancer cell studies.…”

“…NMs have shown better anticancer potential than chemical-methodsynthesized NMs against a lung cancer cell line (A549) at a minimal concentration of 50 μg/ml (Hariharan et al, 2017). Similarly, biogenic magnesium oxide and tin oxide NMs have exhibited anticancer potential against MCF-7 cells (Kgosiemang et al, 2020;, and Rhus coriaria-based green silver NMs have been successfully tested for the inhibition of the breast cancer cell line MCF-7 (Kubatka et al, 2021).…”

“…The most interesting and beneficial plant extracts used for the synthesis of TiO2 nanoparticles are mentioned in this section. Agar well-diffusion method TiO2 NPs exhibited anti-microbial activity against the growth of E.coli [98] Morinda citrifolia (Indian Mulberry or Noni Tree) has a rich medicinal history in India. The fruit of this plant has been profoundly found in many parts of ancient medicinal texts of Ayurveda and Siddha.…”
