Synthesis and characterization of Z-scheme heterostructure CoWO4/g-C3N4 as a visible-light photocatalyst for removal of organic pollutant

Abstract: In this study, direct Z–scheme heterostructure CoWO4/g-C3N4 was synthesized by a facile hydrothermal method. The structural, morphological properties of the prepared samples were characterised by XRD, SEM, UV–Vis and PL measurements. The as-obtained heterostructure CoWO4/g-C3N4 exhibited enhanced photocatalytic activities toward the degradation of Rhodamine B under visible light irradiation with 92% Rhodamine B removal after 80 minutes irritation, which exceeded pristine g-C3N4 and CoWO4. The enhanced photocat… Show more

“…08-0490, which agree well with the reported data of SrWO 4 for Scheelite phase [30]. Figure 8e represents the XRD spectrum of g-C 3 N 4 /NiWO 4 , having peaks at 31.1 [31]; thus, this confirmed the synthesis of g-C 3 N 4 /NiWO 4 . The intensity of the peaks in many spectra decreased and the peak width increased, which indicated the interaction between metal tungstate and C 3 N 4 nanoparticles, and thus confirmed the successful formation of nanocomposites.…”
