Synthesis and Crystal Structure of a 1D Chained Coordination Polymer Constructed from Ca2+ and 2-[(E)-(2-Furoylhydrazono)methyl]benzenesulfonate

Abstract: , R = 0.0703 and wR = 0.1848. The Ca(II) ion is coordinated with four O atoms from two L ligands and two O atoms from two coordinated H2O molecules, and generates a distorted octahedral geometry. The 1D chained structure of Ca(II) coordination polymer is constructed from the bridging of SO3 -groups. The 3D network structure is formed by the hydrogen bonds and π-π interaction between 1D chains.

“…However, the studies on the structures and applications of alkaline earth metal complex are very rare compared with the d metal complex materials [7][8][9][10][11][12][13]. In the previous work of our group, some Mg(II) and Ca(II) complexes have been reported [14][15][16]. As the continue work of our group, herein, we report the spectral characterization, crystal structure and antitumor activity of a novel Ca(II) coordination polymer.…”

“…The structure design methodology and properties of coordination polymers are mainly dependent on the intrinsic organic linkers [9,10], inorganic metal units, as well as the external synthesis conditions such as reaction temperatures, pH of the medium, reaction solvents, and counter anions [11][12][13]. Generally, organic linkers with N and/or O donors have often been utilized as effective building units in the process of coordination polymers [14,15]. In our previous studies, we make great efforts to design favourable organic ligands including imidazolyl-or carboxylate groups.…”

“…However, compared with transition metal complexes, the studies on the antibacterial and antitumor activities of Ca(II) complexes are rare. The investigations of the synthesis and properties of Ca(II) complexes have always been one of our goals [19][20][21][22][23][24][25]. In this work, we synthesized a novel eight-coordinated dinuclear Ca(II) complex, [Ca 2 (L) 2 (H 2 O) 10 ]·H 2 O (1), by the reaction of 3-pyridinecarboxylic hydrazide, disodium 4-formylbenzene-1,3-disulfonate, and Ca(ClO 4 ) 2 ·4H 2 O.…”
