“…Nevertheless, the metal arrangements during the thin film formation provided a glimpse on the optical properties of these compounds [12]. In this context, we continue the study of the behavior of new 2-benzylidene-1-indanone metal complexes derivatives with vanadium.…”

“…Preliminary results of the study of iron(III), organotin(IV) and vanadium(IV) complexes of aryl hydroxymethylidene indanone derivatives as thin films showed electronic properties potentially useful in the production of optoelectronic devices. [11][12][13][14][15][16] With this in mind, the main goal of the present work is the synthesis and characterization of new copper(II) complex of 2benzylidene-1-indanones derivatives. The optical properties of the complexes were also studied to determine their possible application as active layers in type SMOLED devices.…”

“…Among the low molecular weight compounds, copper(II) complexes derived from 2-benzylidene-1-indanones are stable solids that stand out due to their exceptional properties such as containing a conjugated system, the presence of at least one transition metal, a crystalline structure, and a high melting point. These characteristics are essential for the compound to be studied as an organic semiconductor, previous work has been done with tin [11] and metallic atoms of the transition block, [12][13][14] however copper(II) complexes derived from 2-benzylidene-1-indanones have been little studied. Preliminary results of the study of iron(III), organotin(IV) and vanadium(IV) complexes of aryl hydroxymethylidene indanone derivatives as thin films showed electronic properties potentially useful in the production of optoelectronic devices.…”

“…A new method to synthesize 2-benzylidene-1-indanone derivatives 88a – d has been proposed in 2014 by Álvarez-Toledano et al [ 52 ]. These derivatives were obtained from the reaction of o -phthalaldehyde ( 86 ) with acetophenone 87 ( Scheme 28 ).…”
