Synthesis and Structure of Solvent-Free Hexameric Magnesium Tri(tert-butyl)silylphosphandiide

Abstract: Hexameric magnesium tri(tert-butyl)silylphosphandiide crystallizes with a hexagonal Mg6P6 prism and is a rare example of a solvent-free phosphandiide of a hard main group metal. The magnesium atoms show a coordination number of 3 in a trigonal pyramidal surrounding.
