“…The 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazal (DPPH) radical accepts an electron or hydrogen radical to produce a stable diamagnetic molecule with pale yellow colour. 24 Scavenging activities grew in tandem with the expansion of the population utilized sample concentration The ability of produced compounds to scavenge free radicals was tested using standard compound: ascorbic acid Each compound's IC 50 was computed and ascorbic acid as a control. DPPH yielded the Cu (II)-Complex with IC 50 values of 88.3333, 1250 g/mL, the Cu (II)-Complex has a stronger antioxidant.…”

“…The investigations on the development of metal-based drugs have been an interesting area for the bioinorganic chemists since the discovery of the effective metal incorporated anticancer drug cisplatin [ 63 ]. Therefore, recent studies are focused on the design and synthesis of the nitrogen- and sulfur-containing heterocyclic azo dyes and their metal chelates due to the decreased toxicity, excellent and versatile biological properties, such as its antimalarial, antitubercular, anti-inflammatory, anti-leishmanial and anti-oxidant effects [ 66 , 67 ]. The metal complexes, Cu(II) and Fe(III), of azo dyes derived from benzothiazole are pharmacologically effective against the drug-resistant strain of M. tuberculosis (MIC value 1.6 µg/mL) and matrix metallo-protein enzymes (88–95% inhibition) [ 55 ].…”

“…[38][39][40][41] In addition, literature data showed that heterocyclic azo dyes containing phenolic oxygen, such as resorcinol, and naphthol, act as tridentate ligands in metal complexes presumably via N,N,Ocoordination through the heterocyclic nitrogen, the azo nitrogen, and the phenolic oxygen. [31,[42][43][44][45] The diimine ligand, 2,2'-bipyridine has been used extremely in the complexation of metal ions due to its strong redox stability, excellent chelating properties, and diverse structural features. It is widely used in coordination chemistry.…”

“…Crystal structure analysis and quantum chemical calculations have also indicated that the formation of metal complexes in this kind of ligand is through the connection of metal with thiazolyl nitrogen and one nitrogen of the aza group thus giving a five‐membered metal‐containing cycle [38–41] . In addition, literature data showed that heterocyclic azo dyes containing phenolic oxygen, such as resorcinol, and naphthol, act as tridentate ligands in metal complexes presumably via N,N,O‐coordination through the heterocyclic nitrogen, the azo nitrogen, and the phenolic oxygen [31,42–45] …”
