“…A number of reports suggest the use of Co(II) complexes [Co(S 2 CNR 2 ) 2 ] as SSPs, although they are most likely the Co(III) complexes because square planar [Co(S 2 CNR 2 ) 2 ] are extremely oxygen sensitive and in organic solvents rapidly oxidize in air to [Co(S 2 CNR 2 ) 3 ] . Congiu and co-workers report that solid-state decomposition at 400 °C onto a fluoride-doped SnO 2 substrate gives CoS, subsequently tested as the counter electrode in dye-sensitized solar cell, while Zhu, Shen, and co-workers used [Co(S 2 CNEt 2 ) 2 ] to prepare Co 9 S 8 on the surface of graphene oxide via solvothermal decomposition in ethylene diamine at 180 °C for 24 h .…”

“…77 Solvothermal decomposition of cobalt DTCs has not been widely studied. Thirumaran and co-workers decomposed furfuryl complexes [Co(S 2 CNR 2 ) 3 ] and [Co(S 2 CNRBz) 3 ] (R = CH 2 C 4 H 3 O) in triethylenetetramine to give nanorods of Co 3 S 4 , 78 while Revaprasadu and co-workers have reported that hot injection (HI) of [Co(S 2 CNC 8 H 8 O) 3 ] in oleylamine (OLA) affords nanoplates of CoS. 79 There are also reports of Co( ii ) complexes [Co(S 2 CNR 2 ) 2 ] 80–84 being used as SSPs, although as these are extremely oxygen sensitive, they are most likely to be the Co( iii ) complexes. 1 Most notably, ultra-thin, defect-rich, Co 9 S 8 nanosheets have been prepared by Li and co-workers from decomposition of (putative) [Co(S 2 CNBu 2 ) 2 ] at 220 °C in oleic acid in the presence of excess PPh 3 .…”

“…The solvents and starting materials, potassium tetrachloroplatinate(II) (K 2 PtCl 4 ), tri-octylphosphine (TOP), hexadecylamine (HDA), methanol, hexane, methylene blue, ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid disodium salt, acrylamide, isopropanol, hydrochloric acid, and sodium hydroxide were obtained from a commercial source and used without further purification. The sodium salt of morpholine dithiocarbamate was prepared, as reported previously …”

“…The sodium salt of morpholine dithiocarbamate was prepared, as reported previously. 51 ■ EXPERIMENTAL SECTION Synthesis of Pt(II) Complex. K 2 PtCl 4 (0.25 mmol, 0.1038 g) aqueous solution was added slowly to sodium morpholine dithiocarbamate (0.5 mmol, 0.0926 g) aqueous solution and stirred for 6 h at room temperature.…”
