Synthesis, Crystal Structures, and Properties of Novel Heterometallic La/Pr−Cu−K and Sm/Eu/Tb−Cu Coordination Polymers

Abstract: 4), Ln = Tb (5)], have been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, thermogravimetric analysis, and singlecrystal X-ray diffraction. X-ray structural analysis revealed that complexes 1 and 2 are the first Ln/Cu/K structures containing Cu(II) sandwiched in the interlayer regions of the two La/K planes alternately arranged along the b-axis. In complexes 3-5, two distinct types of building blocks, Ln(pydc)(H 2 O) 4 and Cu(pydc) 2 , are linked together by pydc ligands… Show more

“…(∠O (13) (10)), two ptc rings are arranged in a parallel fashion to result in the strong π-π stacking interactions with the centroid-to-centroid distances are 3.3498 Å and 3.3976 Å. The similar 2D framework can be comparable to our previous work La(III)-Cu(II)-K(I) complex [14]. In the crystal structure of 2, on the basis of the topological approach of the simplification principle, Er(III) can be defined as a 5-connected node, Ca 2 O 2 unit can be defined as a 6-connected node and K 2 O 2 units can be defined as a 10-connected node, and the ptc ligands can be simplified as a 3-connected node and 4-connected node, so the topological mode of can be described as a {3.…”

“…Aromatic carboxylate ligands have been widely used in lanthanide complexes for their diverse coordination modes, strong bonding ability and efficient energy transfer to the lanthanide ions [16][17][18]. Especially, the halogen atoms (F, Cl, Br) in halogenated benzoic acids are electron withdrawing groups, which may have an important influence on the luminescence excitation and emission of center lanthanide ions.…”
