Synthesis of 99m Tc-biphenyl-2-ylcarbamoylmethyliminodiacetic acid for hepatobiliary imaging

Abstract: Biphenyl-2-ylcarbamoylmethyliminodiacetic acid (BPIDA) was synthesized, characterized, and labeled with 99m Tc using stannous chloride as reducing agent. The parameters affecting the labeling yield of 99m Tc-BPIDA were studied in detail. The optimum conditions ensuring the 99m Tc-BPIDA labeling yield as high as 85.4 ± 3% are as follows: 2 mg of BPIDA, 20 μg of SnCl 2 ·2H 2 O, pH 6, 15 min.
