“…In fact, the crystallization of pure THF-Glyc-FER zeolite was performed successfully at 413 K for 192 h in the reactant system as well (see Figure 3f). As known, the reaction temperature of 413 K was even the lowest for the synthesis of FER zeolite reported, 18,19 which further evidences that the catalytic amount of Glyc obviously promotes the crystallization process, and lowers the reaction temperature as well. …”

“…The BET and Langmuir surface areas, determined from the isotherms with BJH method were 331.5 and 418.2 m 2 •g -1 , respectively, which were slightly more than 325.0 and 410.0 m 2 •g -1 of the latter sample (see Table 1), indicating the excellent adsorption property of the former H-FER zeolite, the adsorption values of which were very close to those of the all-silica FER single crystals 16 and obviously higher than those of FER zeolite synthesized in the presence of surfactant. 18,19 On the other hand, the former zeolite sample possessed more external surface area, total and macro pore volume, and average pore size, which were beneficial to the diffusion of the adsorptive molecules as well. The fact illustrates that the zeolite crystals synthesized from the reactant with Glyc had more intercrystalline pores in mesoporous or macroporous size, due to the close-packed intergrowth of crystallites with each other, in agreement with the observation by SEM (see Figure 6a).…”
