“…Although chrome yellow (PbCrO 4 ), cadmium yellow (CdS), and cadmium red (CdS/CdSe) have been widely used as conventional inorganic pigments, the use of these pigments have been restricted because they contain toxic elements such as Cd, Cr, Pb, or Se, which are harmful not only to our health but also to the environment. Some new safe inorganic pigments based on metal oxides and compounds have been synthesized by several researchers in order to replace the toxic inorganic pigments with the environmentfriendly pigments or less-toxic substances [2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11]. Although praseodymium yellow (ZrSiO 4 :Pr) [2] has been known as one of the environment-friendly inorganic yellow pigments for ceramics, this pigment is synthesized at elevated temperatures (above 1273 K), which tends to induce particle growth of the pigments.…”
