Synthesis of RbREF 4 (RE: Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, and Tb) and RbRE2F7 (Dy, Ho, Er and Yb) under Non-aqueous Conditions. -Crystalline phases of the title compounds are prepared by the reaction of Ln(acac) 3 (Ln: lanthanide) with RbF in MeOH (25 C, 12 h). Compounds with the RbLnF4 stoichiometry are obtained only for Ln: Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, and Tb (cubic space group Fm3m, powder XRD). The RbLn2F7 compounds (Ln: Dy, Ho, Er, Yb) crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pnma.
