Synthesis, spectroscopic characterization and antibacterial activity of new series of Schiff base derived from 4-aminoantipyrine and 2-amino benzimidazole

Abstract: to react with 4-amino-1,5-dimethyl-2-phenyl-1,2-dihydro-3H-pyrazol-3-one in one hand and 1H-benzo[d]imidazol-2-amine on the other hand to produce Schiff base compounds. Results: Synthesized ether derivative compounds (3a-e) were converted to new series of Schiff bases (4a-e and 5a-e) by condensation of equal molar amounts of compounds (3a-e) with different heterocyclic amines dissolved in absolute ethanol. All synthesized compounds were confirmed by (IR, 1 H-NMR, and 13 CNMR) spectroscopy. All synthesized comp… Show more

“…Until now, many synthesis methods have been reported, such as the oxidation, dimerization, or dehydrogenation of primary amines (Qin et al 2013). Traditionally, the most common and effective way to produce heterocyclic Schiff bases was through the condensation of active aldehydes and heterocyclic amine compounds (Ahmed et al 2019), wherein the carbonyl group (-C=O) is converted into imine or azomethine. (-HC=N-) activity when interacting with primary amine is termed an imine (Kasimala 2021).…”

“…Heterocyclic compounds, which contain one or more heteroatoms, have garnered a great deal of attention as they act as a bridge between chemical and life sciences, including medicinal drugs, herbicides, pesticides and veterinary products. 1,2 Isoxazoles are a member of five-membered heterocycle compounds, these compounds are composed of two adjacent heteroatoms, oxygen, and a nitrogen atom, 3,4 because of their two adjacent electronegative heteroatoms contribute to hydrogen donor-acceptor interactions with certain target enzymes and receptors that are unavailable with other ring structures, https://doi.org/10.15218/zjms.2023. 024 2 214 important component of heterocyclics.…”
